Well the first GotG was something of a success! A good turnout and a gorgeous Sydney spring day combined for a fun, chilled event.
Thanks to everyone who came along and made it so enjoyable. From the feedback it certainly seems people are keen to do it all again…
For those who were there today, if you post photos to Flickr please tag them ”geeksonthegrass“. You can also submit them to the GotG Flickr Group.
Cheers!

So we have a sponsor. News Digital Media have been very nice to us and have sponsored the first ever Geeks on the Grass. So come one and all and enjoy one of the best “geeky” meetups (minus the alcohol and the work).
We’ll be meeting up near the Pool of Reflection (that’s the big pool in front of the memorial), between the pool and the Telstra building on Elizabeth Street.
Remember that Museum Station is right under the picnic location; and heaps of buses stop right at Hyde Park on Elizabeth Street!
Please register (recommended for numbers) by emailing: gotg_rsvp@geekwhisperer.com.
What to bring?
- Yourself
- Lunch main
- (optional) picnic rug/blanket and whatever else you like to take to a picnic
Don’t bring alcohol, this is a dry event (the council were pretty clear on that point :)).
What we’ll provide:
- Drinks
- Nibblies like mini muffins, pastries, savouries and fruit
The weather forecast is for a nice, sunny but cool day - perfect Sydney spring weather in other words. See you there!

beer2.0,
event
So Beer 2.0 was a good success. After a fairly short invitation, it was a good turn out at the Ivory Lounge. A range of folks turned up to the event and as P Rai from Tangler says “… lots of new faces, lots of beer (but of course), and lots of great conversation! …”
